As our Product Owner, you ensure that our internal chatbot Abby—who functions as a Virtual Assistant—solves the right problems and delivers end-user value. Taking your vision and the IT strategy as a basis, you translate user needs into epics and user stories. You know how to focus on maximising end-user value while considering innovations and new development, risk and security aspects.
Your job
As you’ll know, being an effective Product Owner is clearly not a one-person job. You need to collaborate closely with your team and other stakeholders in the organization. To deeply understand your product, users, and its potential, you need to be a great listener. You are in charge of maintaining a clear backlog for organizing user stories. You must communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders from the business and IT to determine priorities based on their needs. It's important to stay informed about what other product owners within your area are doing and collaborate with them.
As Abby’s PO, your role is to motivate your development team and achieve positive results. You must maintain a strong network that supports the team's objectives and provides excellent service to our end users. It is vital to make balanced decisions and set the right priorities. Collaborating with colleagues within and outside the team is essential for achieving our goals. You should be eager to prioritize the end-user value and be ready to challenge others to achieve optimal and cost-efficient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the development of a clear vision for Abby's scope
- Maintain a prioritised product backlog and manage stakeholders effectively
- Unblock the team's impediments and streamline end-to-end processes
- Find a good balance between maintenance and new developments
- Resolve problems/incidents and handle end-user questions
Working environment
With your colleagues from Team Abby, you work in biweekly sprints to keep improving things for our users. The team is part of the Helpdesk & Digital Support Services department, where we have colleagues from all over the world who really want to give our users a WOW experience. With innovations happening in Gen AI and our recent merger with Azure, Power platform and ServiceNow, we're about to kick off a digital revolution. Your profile
Inclusive communication skills and a good understanding of the organization's internal dynamics are essential for the product owner position.
On your CV, highlights:
- Over 5 years of experience in corporate organizations
- Great stakeholder management, feeling at ease communicating with individuals with different backgrounds and at all levels of seniority
- Strong understanding of organizational dynamics
- Innovative and curious mindset in the new wave of AI revoluiton
- Familiarity with portfolio management, roadmap development, and risk reporting
- Experience with the agile way of working, including scaling ceremonies and events, and familiarity with the Scrum or DevOps method
Nice to have:
- Understanding the strategy and objectives of the products, services, and clients
- Proficiency in product management and understanding of business and IT
- Expertise in process design and management
- Passion in delivering satisfying IT support
- Knowledge of and expertise in recognizing and mitigating risk and security aspects

We are offering
- The gross monthly salary (min. Eur. 5.112 - max. Eur. 7.303) displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget. A 40-hour workweek is also possible.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
- Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team).
- An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
- An excellent pension scheme.
